This week is Banned Books Week—we believe wholeheartedly in the freedom brought by a robust, open library system. Our friend Leslie posted this and it bears repeating here:
In 1931, S.R. Ranganathan created the 5 Laws of Library Science, and they’re still awfully good:
- Books are for use.
- Every reader his / her book.
- Every book its reader.
- Save the time of the reader.
- The library is a growing organism.
